About The Position

The primary responsibilities of this position are managing outgoing freight and the related reporting for tracking and billing. This role involves completing package shipments utilizing integrated shipping software, scheduling carriers for truckload and LTL shipments, and preparing necessary documentation. The position also assists with loading/unloading, preparing materials for shipment, and pallet preparation. Responsibilities include following client-specific delivery guidelines, investigating delivery delays or discrepancies, and managing fleet maintenance for company vehicles. The role also contributes to safety goals by maintaining a clean workplace and ensuring departmental safety requirements are met. Productivity and quality standards must be met by completing work in a timely and accurate manner. Overtime may be required, along with other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), four plus years of relevant industry experience or 520 hours as an Imagine temporary employee along with the manager’s approval to hire full-time.
  • Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, keyboard, and menu navigation.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement.
  • Ability to communicate/understand basic written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to be certified in driving a forklift.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
  • Frequent standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work.
  • Must have clean driving record if working at Charlotte location.
  • Must be able to pass a DMV physical for driving company vehicles at Charlotte location.

Nice To Haves

  • Five plus years of experience in a shipping coordination role.
  • Prior experience using an ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Complete package shipments utilizing an integrated shipping software.
  • Schedule carriers for truckload and LTL shipments and prepare all the necessary documentation (bills of lading, commercial invoices, etc.).
  • Assist with loading or unloading, or preparing materials for shipment, as needed.
  • Prepare pallets for shipment (wrap as needed, label per client and carrier specifications).
  • Follow client specific guidelines for deliveries (appointments, badge requirements, etc).
  • Investigate delivery delays or discrepancies.
  • Manages fleet management for both class A and box truck– ensure truck maintenance is up to date and manage DMV requirements.
  • Contribute to safety goals by maintaining a clean, clutter-free workplace, report potentially unsafe conditions and ensure that the department meets and exceeds safety requirements.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards by completing work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prepare and complete local deliveries using company managed vehicles at Charlotte location.
