About The Position

The Security Guard is responsible for securing the warehouse/distribution center, its property, and the people in it. The role focuses on detecting, deterring, observing, and reporting security concerns. It is a full-time overnight position scheduled from 12:00 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. Previous security experience is required. The role also supports facility safety and operations by monitoring access and surveillance systems, tracking visitors and yard-management activity, issuing and managing badges, lockers, locks, and radios, and conducting bag checks. The Security Guard assists with emergencies, follows supervisor and manager directions, and helps enforce applicable safety directives. Company pets must be fed and given water once per shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous security experience.
Quick assessment and problem-solving skills, including assessing people and surroundings.
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of standard security and safety protocols.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Solid verbal and written communication skills.
Listening skills.
Willingness to learn and enforce safety procedures.
Comfort directing people or performing leadership responsibilities.
Ability to operate emergency equipment and camera/surveillance equipment.
Ability to work well in a team.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

Use and monitor surveillance and camera equipment.
Keep a record of visitors, including arrival and departure times.
Patrol the premises regularly to ensure nothing is out of place.
Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility for security breaches.
Assist maintenance staff in securing an area during a maintenance emergency.
Protect company property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Respond to alarms within the warehouse.
Observe and report suspicious activities and persons.
Coordinate with law enforcement in cases of suspected or reported criminal activity.
Follow the directions of the supervisor and manager.
Assist with compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety directives.
Answer the phone and track yard-management services, including trucks and deliveries.
Monitor entrances and exits to prevent theft and ensure workplace security.
Monitor the Win-Pak system; create badges for temporary employees and new hires and deactivate badges for terminated team members.
Assign lockers and issue locks to team members.
Issue and control radios signed out to team members.
Perform bag checks when team members leave the building.
Feed company pets and provide water once per shift.
