About The Position

The Warehouse & Shipping position is responsible for supporting the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of the warehouse. This role performs warehouse organization, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and related documentation. The position helps ensure materials are properly received, stored, transferred, picked, packed, and shipped while maintaining accurate inventory records within the company’s inventory management system.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, parts, or inventory experience preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management and shipping systems.
Ability to accurately identify part numbers, quantities, and documentation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
Forklift experience or willingness to complete company-required forklift training and certification.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and shipping/receiving area.
Pick and prepare parts and materials for customer orders, branch transfers, service jobs, and other company needs.
Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials before orders leave the warehouse.
Properly package and protect materials to prevent damage during shipment or transfer.
Label, stage, and organize outgoing orders for shipment, pickup, or delivery.
Stock received materials in their assigned warehouse and bin locations.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks, deliveries, and freight.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment as authorized and trained.
Maintain appropriate housekeeping standards, including keeping aisles, exits, work areas, and storage locations clear and accessible.
Follow company safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns.
Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and other supporting documentation.
Inspect incoming shipments for shortages, overages, incorrect items, and visible damage.
Promptly report receiving discrepancies or damaged materials to the appropriate department.
Accurately complete Item Receipts and other required receiving transactions within the inventory system.
Account for partial shipments and ensure only materials physically received are recorded as received.
Prepare customer orders, branch transfers, returns, and other outgoing materials for shipment.
Select appropriate packaging and shipping methods based on the size, weight, destination, urgency, and type of material.
Generate shipping labels and required documentation and coordinate shipments with approved carriers.
Maintain tracking information and shipping documentation as required.
Coordinate customer and vendor pickups and ensure materials are properly identified before release.
Process and assist with vendor returns, RMAs, warranties, and other return shipments as assigned.
Maintain accurate inventory quantities and bin locations within the inventory management system.
Ensure inventory movements, transfers, receipts, and other transactions are entered accurately and timely.
Use Inventory Transfers or other approved transactions when moving materials between bins or locations.
Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits.
Research inventory discrepancies by reviewing transactions, physical quantities, bin locations, and supporting documentation.
Report inventory discrepancies and assist with determining the cause and appropriate correction.
Identify misplaced, damaged, obsolete, unidentified, or improperly labeled inventory and report findings to management.
Ensure materials are stored in the appropriate location and clearly identified with accurate part numbers and descriptions.
Help maintain inventory organization to support efficient picking, receiving, and counting.
Follow established inventory control procedures and obtain appropriate authorization before making inventory adjustments.
Assist Procurement, Sales, Service, and other departments with inventory-related questions and material requests.
Accurately complete required paperwork, system transactions, and documentation.
Communicate promptly with appropriate team members regarding shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, delayed shipments, or other issues.
Work cooperatively with Sales, Procurement, Service, Accounting, and branch personnel.
Protect company and customer property from loss, damage, or improper handling.
Follow established company procedures for warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and workplace safety.
Perform other warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, facility, or operational duties as assigned.
