About The Position

The Warehouse Receiving Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of goods into our facility. This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing all incoming shipments from vendors and carriers, verifying the accuracy of each delivery against corresponding purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices. The Warehouse Receiving Specialist maintains organized and up-to-date inventory records by accurately entering data into the warehouse management system (WMS) and promptly documenting any discrepancies, damages, or shortages. By upholding rigorous standards for accuracy, safety, and organization, this role is foundational to the overall efficiency and performance of our warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in warehouse receiving, shipping, inventory, or a related logistics role.
  • Valid forklift certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills, including data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of accuracy in receiving documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or vocational/technical training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with RF scanners, barcode systems, and automated inventory tracking tools.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards as they apply to warehouse and dock environments.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume distribution center or fulfillment environment.
  • Solar Eclipse operating system knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers at the receiving dock in a timely and organized manner.
  • Inspect and verify all incoming goods against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to confirm accuracy of quantity, item, and condition.
  • Document, photograph, and report all discrepancies, damages, or shortages to management and the appropriate purchasing or inventory team.
  • Enter received inventory accurately and promptly into the warehouse management system (WMS), ensuring data integrity at all times.
  • Label, sort, and organize products according to established protocols for proper storage placement and retrieval.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and inventory teams to provide updates on order status, pending deliveries, and receipt confirmations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized receiving dock area in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with certification requirements.
  • Assist with cycle counts, spot checks, and annual physical inventory audits to support inventory accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with carriers, drivers, and vendors to resolve delivery issues and coordinate scheduling.
  • Adhere to all applicable OSHA safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Provide support to other warehouse functions — including shipping, stocking, and order fulfillment — as operational needs require.
