About The Position

The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for unloading, breakdown, accurate and efficient receipt of inbound shipments, verifying product quantities and conditions, and ensuring proper system transactions. This role supports inventory accuracy, product quality, and timely product availability for distribution while maintaining high standards of safety and organization.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) with a demonstrated willingness to learn new systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment as needed.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand, bend, squat, reach, kneel, stoop, stretch.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Experience with inventory control and SKU management desired.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of all inbound deliveries using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accuracy in quantity and product identification.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
  • Verify and sign for deliveries and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Process returns for incorrect, damaged, or unsatisfactory items.
  • Perform timely and accurate system transactions for all receipts.
  • Apply receiving labels and ensure proper product identification and traceability at the item, case, and pallet level.
  • Stage and prepare inventory for movement into the distribution center and assist with proper put-away.
  • Operate electric fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment following established safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving docks, staging areas, and workspaces throughout the shift and at the end of the shift.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and product rotation (FIFO/FEFO) as needed.
  • Perform QC and auditing functions as assigned.
  • Crosstrain and support other warehouse functions as needed.
  • Report safety, equipment, or operational concerns to appropriate departments (Operations, Distribution, Maintenance, Human Resources).
  • Follow all company policies and procedures including safety, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely unloading and receiving shipments.
  • May be required to work overtime, including more than 40 hours per week, based on business needs.
