About The Position

The Warehouse Receiver receives, logs, and issues materials to the stockroom, warehouse, or designated locations. The role checks incoming goods against bills of lading or purchase orders, inspects items for damage and expiration dates, and maintains required clerical records. It may also involve operating warehouse equipment to move goods to storage, performing returns, and maintaining cooler and freezer areas and inventory control for USDA operations.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals, such as bells, alarms, and horns, used to warn employees about equipment movement, mechanical abnormalities, and similar warehouse risks.
• Ability to operate a powered industrial vehicle (PIV).

Responsibilities

• Check goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
• Check goods for damage and expiration dates.
• Identify and account for all histamine products (seafood only).
• Sort, count, and check received items.
• Maintain required clerical records.
• Operate warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage areas and place them in designated locations.
• Identify damaged packaging and/or possible cross-contaminated product.
• Perform returns.
• Maintain and rotate cooler and freezer (USDA only).
• Perform inventory control (USDA only).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
