About The Position

This role will support the timely flow of materials through our manufacturing facility. This role involves both computer work at a desk and physical hands-on work in the warehouse. The work includes operating the forklift and other warehouse equipment as required, shipping and receiving, as well as providing support to inventory management and warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving
  • Minimum 2 years of sit-down counterbalance forklift experience with valid forklift certification
  • Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract
  • Knowledgeable with Hazmat Transport Regulations or willing to take training
  • Experience with international shipping regulations and documentation
  • Experience working with dangerous goods
  • Experience with heavy loads and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use the computer and work with MS Office Suite
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to work in a fast paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Basic testing functional, programming of power electronics and calibration of batteries or willing to be trained
  • Assisting with some basic assembly, installing insulation, adding decals and labels

Responsibilities

  • Perform general warehouse duties, including organizing shelves, pallet racking area and other warehouse areas to ensure a smooth flow of materials
  • Safely operate the forklift (sit-down counterbalance) and other warehouse equipment (e.g. pallet jack, pallet stacker) to load and unload materials from trucks and pallet racking
  • Receive products according to standard operating procedures; perform quality checks, investigate discrepancies between the packing slip and PO and report any damaged products
  • Package customer orders according to procedures and customer requirements (this may include building wooden crates)
  • Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is complete and accurate
  • Assist with all inventory counts to ensure accuracy of stock levels
  • Operate the company van (class 5 driver's license is required) to pick-up & drop-off materials locally when required
  • Assist with arranging logistics, utilizing both local couriers and international freight carriers
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations
  • Visually inspecting metalwork for powder coat or paint issues or shipping/handling damage
