About The Position

Warehouse Porters work as part of a team to preserve a clean and tidy environment throughout C&S Wholesale Grocers facilities, supporting a prideful work environment and the delivery of high-quality products to customers. The role is based at 61 Medeiros Way, Westfield, Massachusetts, and is scheduled Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The posted starting rate is $19.00 per hour, with a $2.00 freezer premium and a $1.00 shift differential, for a total starting rate of $22.00 per hour. No travel is required. The work environment may include frozen conditions of approximately -20° to 0°.

Requirements

Attendance, initiative, productivity, quality, safety, and values.
General Equivalency Diploma in General Studies or High School Diploma in General Studies is listed among the qualifications.
Continually stand, bend, pull, lift, and pivot for up to 90% of the shift.
Walk on surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet.
Frequently lift products weighing between 1 and 60 pounds or more, including from floor to overhead.
May work on multiple levels of varying height.
Safely handle sharp objects, including box-cutting tools.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain warehouse aisles and product slots.
Clean spills, including damaged product, oil, grease, and broken glass, using appropriate materials such as sawdust, brooms, mops, or shovels.
Clean slots with cleaning supplies and an electric scrubber, and replace product.
Occasionally pull product from slots with a pallet jack and clean behind it using appropriate supplies and a scrubber.
Clean break areas and offices when necessary.
Collect and bale plastic wrap throughout the shift.
Sweep, mop, buff, and wax floors; vacuum carpeted offices and work areas.
Clean bathrooms, which may require using bleach products.
Collect shredded paper and empty boxes, take paper to the compactor, and empty trash cans.
Clean fire extinguishers and windows; ensure lights are turned off and doors are locked when appropriate.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
