Warehouse Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
This position is responsible for sorting hold area slabs, selecting slabs for fabrication, and moving slabs to the necessary line location. The role includes staging material for inspection, sorting and storing slabs with an overhead crane, scanning slabs, and using a forklift as needed. The employee will complete equipment and safety inspections, participate in inventory counts, communicate material defects and inventory levels to the Supervisor, and keep the work area clean and orderly. The position requires safe, responsible work, urgency, and cross-training on multiple types of equipment. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Management. The role requires the ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures, use measuring equipment, read blueprints and technical procedures, and perform basic computer and math tasks. Warehouse experience is preferred, as are a high school diploma or equivalent, Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD. The job requires lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling 100 pounds, standing on concrete for periods of up to 10 hours with intermittent breaks, bending repeatedly, wearing provided PPE, and participating in daily stretch and flex exercises. Task-based PPE includes steel-toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, cut-proof gloves, and latex gloves.
Requirements
- Ability to work safely and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ability to become certified in using a forklift and an overhead crane.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to speak and read English sufficiently to converse with the general public, read and understand highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

Responsibilities
- Learn and apply the concepts of Cambria warehouse work as outlined in the Warehouse SOPs.
- Stage material to prepare it for slab inspection.
- Sort slabs using an overhead crane and store them in the correct locations.
- Ensure slabs are scanned correctly.
- Inspect the overhead crane daily.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Complete safety inspections of the forklift and crane.
- Participate in monthly inventory counts.
- Communicate with the Supervisor about material defects and inventory levels.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Conduct all job-related duties safely and responsibly.
- Complete work with a sense of urgency.
- Cross-train on multiple types of equipment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.
