About The Position

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Operator / Class 3(Q) Box Truck Driver to join our team. Meyer is a growing, family-owned and operated company. The Warehouse Operator & Class 3Q Backup Driver loads and unloads trucks, stocks products in appropriate locations, pulls stock and stages products for shipping, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. This position will also be responsible for driving company trucks when needed to make route deliveries to customers, ensuring product is delivered to customers in a timely manner while staying compliant with National Safety Code.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience operating 26–28 ft. box trucks or any other commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 lbs.
  • Possession of a valid class DZ driver’s license with air brakes
  • Willingness to submit to background checks
  • Clean driving record with no recent moving violations; must remain insurable under standard insurance market rates
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive bending and lifting
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trucks, dispersing product accurately based on its receiving location
  • Uses scanners to stock parts on racks in proper bin locations
  • Operates at least one type of Power-Industrial Equipment (Forklift, Manlift, etc.)
  • Places product on pallets and assists in banding and wrapping loads
  • Wears protective steel toed shoes and works in a safe manner at all times
  • Keeps warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times
  • Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Complies with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Reports defects, accidents or violations
  • Completes paperwork necessary for company and National Safety Code.
  • Communicates with Fleet Management on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.
  • All other duties as assigned
