About The Position

Purpose and Impact: In support of a challenging, critical, and rewarding program that provides integrated voice, video, and data services throughout the Information Technology lifecycle, Amentum is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team of IT professionals dedicated to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. You must be a critical thinker, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently or as a member of a team in a dynamic environment. We value candidates who are detail-oriented while also being able to think and react quickly to emerging and unique problem sets. To be successful, you must be able to rapidly adapt and learn how to operate the front and back end of new products and processes. Work Schedule: 5 Days (Mon – Fri); 8 hrs/Day; 40 hrs/wkly Essential Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Specialist include, but are not limited to the following: Establish and maintain rigorous property accountability systems to ensure 100% inventory accuracy and full compliance with federal regulations. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assets, meticulously documenting all instances of receipt, transfer, shipment, and excessing to prevent loss or discrepancy. Utilize advanced product tracking databases to monitor high-value deliverables, product returns, and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) with real-time precision. Coordinate complex logistics and timely material shipments across domestic and international locations, optimizing for both speed and cost-efficiency. Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials to ensure all labeling and packaging strictly adhere to technical documentation and safety standards. Act as the primary point of contact for shipping carriers, managing all requisite customs and transport documentation to streamline freight movement. Optimize physical warehouse footprints by designing and implementing new inventory storage locations to improve workflow and accessibility. Maintain exhaustive logs of all shipments and deliveries, providing stakeholders with transparent, audit-ready data. Uphold peak operational standards by ensuring workspaces remain organized, hazard-free, and compliant with safety protocols. Execute high-priority tasks independently while integrating seamlessly into cross-functional teams to meet broader organizational milestones. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: The position requires a balanced schedule of standing and sitting (approximately 50/50) and the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must comply with all safety requirements such as wearing protective footwear as well as any other personal protective wear deemed necessary for a particular task.

Requirements

  • Must have active Secret and the ability to acquire Top Secret/SCI
  • Must have 2+ years of proven experience in warehouse and/or logistics operations
  • Proven working knowledge of IT infrastructure, Maximo, and ServiceNow
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last-minute requests for overtime if needed
  • Ability to travel (10%) primarily within 75 miles
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project and Visio
  • Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
  • Must comply with all safety requirements such as wearing protective footwear as well as any other personal protective wear deemed necessary for a particular task.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
