This role involves leading and managing all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, inventory control, and shipping. The Warehouse Operations Manager will uphold the highest safety standards, supervise, coach, and develop warehouse team members, and ensure products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment and operating forklifts and material-handling equipment safely are also key responsibilities. The role also includes overseeing inventory accuracy, cycle counts, stock rotation, and discrepancy resolution, monitoring purchase orders, transfers, and receiving activity, and working with the Branch Manager to research inventory variances and manage RTVs. Utilizing barcode scanning systems and warehouse technology to maintain data accuracy is essential. Furthermore, the position focuses on identifying opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflows, and space utilization, leading continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies, establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices, and analyzing operational data and KPIs. Collaboration with branch leadership, customers, and other departments is crucial for supporting customer service goals, branch profitability, and smooth branch operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or operations leadership
  • Demonstrated experience improving operational processes, workflows, or efficiency
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Experience with inventory management systems, ERP/WMS platforms, and warehouse technology
  • Results-driven with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, inventory control, and shipping
  • Uphold the highest safety standards in alignment with the P&H Safety Action Plan
  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse team members; provide performance feedback and training
  • Ensure products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time using established systems and procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely when required
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, stock rotation, and discrepancy resolution
  • Monitor purchase orders, transfers, and receiving activity to ensure timely and accurate processing
  • Work with the Branch Manager to research inventory variances and manage RTVs
  • Use barcode scanning systems and warehouse technology to maintain data accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, workflows, and space utilization
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and error reduction
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies to warehouse operations
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
  • Analyze operational data and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Support change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new processes and tools
  • Partner with branch leadership to support customer service goals and branch profitability
  • Interact with customers as needed to ensure satisfaction and resolve operational issues
  • Collaborate with other departments to support smooth branch operations
