About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring the shipping area is clean, organized, and operating efficiently. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, leading by example, and holding others accountable for safe work practices to achieve zero incidents. The individual will learn the Dock Scheduler role for backup and must become forklift certified within the first 30 days. Responsibilities include ensuring pallets are available for auto-palletizing, sorting pallets for quality, assisting with hand palletizing when needed, checking trailer/container conditions, inspecting pallets for damage and proper wrapping, visually checking pallets for item codes and pallet numbers, determining optimal truck loading patterns, completing shipment confirmations, generating bills of lading, and ensuring effective shift handovers. The role also emphasizes meeting health and safety requirements, maintaining a positive safety culture, and embodying the company's ownership mindset and principles.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure shipping area is clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
  • Complete assigned Master Sanitation tasks.
  • Perform work safely by leading by example and never walking past an unsafe condition.
  • Hold others accountable to working safely to ensure the goal of ZERO Incidents is achieved.
  • Learn the Dock Scheduler role for backup.
  • Become certified on a forklift in the first 30 days.
  • Ensure pallets are available for auto-palletizing.
  • Sort pallets to ensure adequately good quality pallets are placed into the palletizing system.
  • Assist with hand palletizing on occasions when the auto palletizing system is down.
  • Check the condition of trailers/containers and record findings.
  • Inspect each pallet of product for damage, missing product, ice/snow, proper wrap, and pallet condition.
  • Visually check each pallet for item code, pallet number, and case.
  • Determine the best pattern to load the truck within CA state based on product on order.
  • Complete shipment confirmation and generate bills of lading.
  • Ensure effective hand over with the next shift, including all watch outs and issues.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are fully met and a positive safety culture is maintained throughout the department.
  • Walk the talk always using the safety, quality, and productivity mindset, attending to issues as and when they happen.
  • Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees.
  • Follow the principle of “will I do this to my home?”
