Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, GM we are currently seeking a Warehouse Material Handler I for our Evening Shift to be based at our Denver facility. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or at least two years shipping and receiving experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping and receiving documents – invoices, bills of lading, manifests, etc. comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write English legibly for simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to accurately count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide, calculate shipping and freight costs, discounts, fees, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with various personalities on the shop floor and develop lasting rapport.
  • Ability to address vendor issues and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to solve shipping/receiving/inventory problems and deal with a variety of issues and variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong attention to detail with good organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Good PC skills as well as proficiency in Word, Excel, and MS Outlook, EPICOR, and other specialized inventory tracking applications/software.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess OSHA forklift certification.
  • Must comply with and follow all IE standards, programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately.
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours or more.
  • Have good manual dexterity.
  • Show good judgment.
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift/and or move up to 20 lbs. frequently, lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a fairly regular basis and move up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.
  • Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional overtime as required.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, staging, and delivering received goods from the warehouse to the production floor in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in the material returns process and other duties as necessary to support the flow of material to the production floor.
  • Tracking, monitoring, and delivering all received material to appropriate locations in the production process (Point of Use, inventory and/or job carts.)
  • Appropriately identifying and staging goods for manufacturing, inventory, or general delivery for routing to shop floor or other departments within the Company.
  • Reading production schedule to determine when kitted job carts should be prepared and distributed to shop floor.
  • Ensuring job carts are accurate and contain all the required parts while confirming BOM’s for jobs are signed off at the distribution and hand off of job carts to the floor.
  • Printing job inventory picklists, pulling material, and issuing that material to the job.
  • Delivering materials as requested by leads or project managers and ensuring delivery to the appropriate person to be signed off for.
  • Maintaining Material Request Queue to ensure timely deliveries to will-call or shop floor.
  • Assisting in the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
  • Assisting with cycle counts and inventory maintenance.
  • Seeking ways to improve efficiency while maximizing accuracy by fully utilizing available resources and actively seeking to improve performance.
  • Returning finished job carts to the warehouse as jobs finish out of the test department.
  • Documenting and communicating with buyers and inventory control specialist to return material to inventory or supplier returns.
  • Ensuring that returned materials are stored in an orderly and accessible manner.
  • Directing the salvage of damaged or used material and working with the procurement team to put it into inventory or scrap as appropriate.
  • Safely operating various forklifts and overhead cranes to move or hoist shipments from the warehouse to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Assisting in moving, unloading, and loading material as necessary.
  • Operating various hand tools and properly caring for and maintaining tools in good operating condition; ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored at the end of each shift.
  • Delivering daily received items from the 4-wheeler trailer to the shop floor, ensuring that the trailer is empty at the end of the day.
  • Conferring with appropriate department heads to ensure coordination of material delivery with activities of other functions such as production and sales.
  • Working with the Procurement Manager to coordinate planned and unplanned workflow.
  • Participating in weekly scheduled review meetings for planning continuous improvement projects throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintaining general communication with Project Managers with respect to the kitting of job cart material and delivery of other key project materials.
  • Contributing to a team environment by exhibiting a positive and helpful attitude with team members while working towards shared team goals.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment established by Intermountain Electronics, safety guidelines.
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary.
