Position: The Material Handler II is responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and transportation of materials, products, and goods within the warehouse and distribution center. This position involves ensuring that materials are properly organized, transported, and stocked, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Material Handler II must be able to operate various material handling equipment, assist in inventory management tasks and keep a safe working environment. Employment for this position is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening due to the operation of equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education or training is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
• Proficient in the use of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of inventory control systems and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and inventory management.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to follow workplace safety procedures.
• Forklift certification preferred (or the ability to obtain certification within a specified time frame).
• Ability to pass an onsite PIE assessment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Experience with barcoding or RFID technologies.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse.
• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, ensuring accurate and safe movement of goods.
• Organize, stock, and store materials in proper locations, following company procedures for material storage and inventory control.
• Assist in conducting regular inventory checks and updates, ensuring accurate stock counts and data entry into the inventory management system.
• Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipping and delivery to production or external clients as required.
• Collaborate with other team members, supervisors, and departments to meet production schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring that materials are handled safely and in accordance with safety protocols.
• Perform basic quality checks on materials and products to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Assist with labeling, tagging, and other required documentation for materials, ensuring all relevant information is accurate and up to date.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures in the performance of material handling duties.
• Report any damaged or defective materials to supervisors for resolution.
• Ability to work with AMR’s.
