About The Position

This role involves handling, moving, and storing various materials within a warehouse environment. The Material Handler will be responsible for pulling materials from rack locations, recording all transactions in the ERP system, and managing material movement. This position requires accuracy in inventory management, including monitoring inventory accuracy and ensuring proper status is assigned in the ERP system. The handler will also be responsible for inspecting and operating manual and electric pallet jacks, as well as sit-down and swing-reach forklifts. Loading and unloading materials from transport vehicles, pulling correct items for orders, and staging them for packing are key duties. The role also includes performing inventory audits, cycle counts, and verifying customer inventory against on-hand quantities. Identifying and suggesting process improvements, assisting with general housekeeping, and understanding the organization structure are also part of the responsibilities. Material Handler Levels are awarded based on experience and responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must be attentive to safety in the workplace.
  • Knowledgeable and detail oriented regarding product, labels, lot numbers, quantities, and shipping methods.
  • Proficient at multi-tasking, able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Physical requirements may include standing for prolonged periods of time, bending, lifting to 50 lbs, and repetitive motion.
  • Must be knowledgeable in basic math functions.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers/scanners.
  • Must be open to cross training, if needed.
  • Forklift certified or willingness to be trained to operate a forklift.

Nice To Haves

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Handles, moves, and stores various materials within a warehouse environment.
  • Pull materials from warehouse rack locations, record all transactions in ERP system.
  • Manage, monitor, record material movement in ERP or via physical document, as required.
  • Move materials to and from operations locations, as needed, to support Work Orders.
  • Monitors material inventory accuracy and ensures proper status is assigned in ERP.
  • Ensure materials are in proper ERP (virtually) and physically in warehouse rack locations.
  • Inspect and operate manual and electric pallet jacks.
  • Inspect and operate sit down and swing-reach forklifts.
  • Load and unload materials from transport vehicles as required.
  • Pull correct items from warehouse locations to support orders; stage them for packing.
  • Perform inventory audits and cycle-counts as required.
  • Verify customer inventory in ERP and match to on-hand qty, report discrepancies to manager.
  • Identify and suggest Process Improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in general housekeeping, including sweeping and cleaning areas within or around the warehouse.
  • Be familiar with the organization structure and their associated functions.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by Team Leads and Warehouse Manager.
