About The Position

Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., located in Central and Southwest VA, is a large beverage distribution company seeking a full-time WAREHOUSE MANAGER (NIGHT). The individual in this position will provide leadership to a team of warehouse associates to ensure that beverage products are accurately picked in a timely manner and loaded safely and correctly onto delivery vehicles. This position reports directly to the division Operations Manager.

  • 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations, warehousing, logistics or distribution.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership, organizational development, administration, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Power equipment certified including forklifts and other product-moving equipment.
  • Demonstrated success in setting priorities; exceptional analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills; strong ability to multi-task across diverse projects, issues, and scenarios, with the ability to pivot quickly.
  • Ability to work in a team-based, collaborative environment with employees at all levels.
  • Practical math skills and strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • All candidates must consent to a pre-employment drug screen that includes testing for the presence of THC.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with warehouse management software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train, schedule and supervise warehouse employees to ensure they are performing assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage work hours to ensure adequate coverage while controlling overtime.
  • Ensure warehouse employees abide by all company policies and procedures, paying close attention to picking and loading processes.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by monitoring safety and security procedures and protocols.
  • Escalate employee or safety concerns or issues to the Operations Manager as needed.
  • Direct workflow nightly, including assisting with picking and loading as needed, following established processes and procedures.
  • Manage team picking accuracy according to warehouse processes, including verification of load completion and count.
  • Ensure pallets are loaded onto correct trucks in an accurate and safe manner.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse.
  • Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed and documented.
  • Provide a safe environment.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is secure and that the team is functioning securely at night.
  • Submit and implement new ideas relative to improving warehouse operations and efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
