About The Position

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead quality operations supporting the production of advanced telecommunications satellite systems. This role is responsible for ensuring product integrity across all phases of manufacturing by driving compliance, overseeing inspections, and leading a high-performing quality team. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising teams of 10 or more employees
  • Experience in quality operations within manufacturing or aerospace environments preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and lifting as needed
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field preferred
  • Direct experience supervising quality teams and inspection processes
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance standards
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop teams
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP/MRP systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise quality operations, including inspections of incoming materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Oversee daily activities of quality personnel, ensuring products meet performance, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Maintain compliance within assigned areas, ensuring adherence to internal processes, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems
  • Conduct employee training and process audits to support continuous improvement and departmental goals
  • Drive team engagement, accountability, and performance through strong leadership and clear communication
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes
  • Identify and address operational and personnel challenges in a timely and effective manner
  • Support achievement of key operational metrics, including quality, delivery, and efficiency targets
