About The Position

Taylor Metal Products is a leading manufacturer of high-end steel roofing and siding products with over 20 years of continuous growth. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure uninterrupted production of quality products that meet compliance with company standards. This is a full-time position for a reliable, self-driven individual capable of troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing multiple types of equipment throughout the manufacturing plant. We are looking for a dependable team player who takes pride in quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude with operating, repairing, and conducting routine maintenance on forklifts, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, motors, and other equipment or tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for troubleshooting, repairs, process, and safety improvements.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and determine appropriate corrective measures.
  • Ability to provide cost estimates for corrections.
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metals.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good time management and strong work ethic.
  • Pass background check and physical ability test.
  • 1-3 years of internal or relevant industrial machinery maintenance experience required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience programming and operating CNC machinery desired.
  • Forklift certification preferred (will certify in-house).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical).
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair multiple types of equipment throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Set up, operate, and program computerized press-brake, roll-forming machines, and machine shop equipment.
  • Maintain accurate preventive maintenance schedules and understand preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Lead or conduct the safe removal and installation of equipment.
  • Perform weekly safety checks to ensure a safe and clean operating environment and eliminate all hazards.
  • Provide groundskeeping services such as landscaping, snow removal, and exterior maintenance as appointed by management.
  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machined parts, jigs, fixtures, or tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
