About The Position

The Warehouse Loader organizes the loading dock and loads customer orders accurately according to route sequence and dispatch time. The position operates powered industrial trucks and other equipment to move product, stages and secures inventory, determines loading configurations, and loads orders to prevent transit damage. The role also checks and merges frozen perishable products with the correct orders and ensures non-food items are loaded. The work takes place in a warehouse with temperatures ranging from very cool to very warm, as well as exposure to outside weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or stock pickers.
• Ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
• Ability to follow safe working practices.
• Ability to work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Ability to carry, lift, and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to sit and frequently stand, walk, and climb.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate powered industrial trucks equipped with lifting devices, such as forklifts or hand jacks, to move products.
• Inventory materials on the loading dock and ensure products are accurately staged, properly stacked, and shrink-wrapped.
• Determine loading configurations based on stop order, product mix, and routing to maximize cube utilization.
• Load products into trucks on pallets, by hand stacking, or using a combination of methods.
• Load products in a way that prevents damage during transit.
• Check for frozen perishable products on the cooler dock and merge them with the correct order.
• Load non-food items, such as pallet jacks, display racks, and mail.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
• Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
• Safeguard confidential company information.
