About The Position

The Warehouse Lending Specialist position is a client-facing role with internal duties and responsibilities. This person will be expected to correspond to clients in a timely, respectful, and professional manner. This role is in office Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm. The specialist will receive, process, and release all collateral (notes), ensuring their safekeeping in a fire-proof vault. Responsibilities include registering collateral into the warehouse database, stamping and endorsing notes for takeout investors, and ensuring accuracy in reviewing, packaging, and investor selection before release. The role also involves managing the missing collateral report, the warehouse shipping email inbox, and the collateral note tracking spreadsheet, as well as performing monthly audits of the collateral stored in the note vault. Additionally, the specialist will process daily settlements, manage the wires email inbox, and serve as backup to the Funding Coordinator for processing additional wires as needed.

  • Must confirm borrowers signatures are original, not copies.
  • Completes, and passes, all required regulatory compliance training as assigned by the Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and release all collateral (notes).
  • Safeguard the mortgage note in a fire-proof vault.
  • Register collateral into the warehouse database.
  • Stamp and endorse each note to the takeout investors.
  • Ensure accuracy in reviewing, packaging, and investor selection prior to releasing collateral.
  • Manage the missing collateral report to ensure collateral is received and processed according to policy and procedures.
  • Manage the warehouse shipping email inbox and the collateral note tracking spreadsheet.
  • Perform monthly audits of the collateral stored in the note vault.
  • Process daily settlements.
  • Manage the wires email inbox.
  • Serve as backup to the Funding Coordinator for processing additional wires, as needed.
  • Confirm borrowers signatures are original, not copies.
  • Ship all daily collateral release requests and make the daily mail drop, on or off site.
  • Complete the MERS assignment in the MERS database when applicable.
  • Maintain current and accurate Investor endorsement verbiage at all times.
  • Engage in frequent communication with management and client's shipping team to keep abreast of any pertinent investor changes.
  • Assist in processing settlements, daily.
  • Cross-train with other departments to assist when other team members are out.
  • Complete, and pass, all required regulatory compliance training as assigned by the Bank.
