About The Position

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor or Operations Manager, the Warehouse Lead plays a critical front-line leadership role in the day-to-day operations of our distribution centre. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for directing warehouse associates, ensuring productivity targets are met, maintaining safety standards, and supporting seamless inbound and outbound logistics operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or DEP (Diplôme d’études professionnelles) required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, or logistics environment.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or team leader role.
  • Proven experience with material handling equipment (forklift, reach truck, order picker).
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP, Manhattan, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and supply chain processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, WMS platforms).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations including WHMIS, TDG, and applicable Quebec legislation.
  • Forklift/reach truck certification (required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

  • Additional post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or business management is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse associates during assigned shifts.
  • Assign daily tasks and workloads to team members based on operational priorities.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily goals, safety topics, and operational updates.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Support onboarding and training of new warehouse employees.
  • Oversee receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify that all inbound and outbound shipments meet quality and accuracy standards.
  • Operate and oversee the use of material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks).
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory movements and generate reports.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of goods within the facility.
  • Enforce all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse floor and equipment.
  • Investigate and report workplace incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with WHMIS, TDG, and all applicable provincial and federal regulations.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety, respect, and accountability.
  • Communicate operational issues, delays, and exceptions to the Warehouse Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Prepare shift reports including productivity metrics, attendance, and incident logs.
  • Coordinate with shipping/receiving teams, carriers, and other departments as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean/5S activities.
