About The Position

This role involves supervising and coordinating warehouse personnel and activities, including the receipt, storage, and shipment of materials. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for ensuring productivity goals are met, operating objectives are achieved, and maintaining warehouse functions. This position also plays a key role in training new and current employees, collaborating with customers to resolve discrepancies, and preparing work schedules. The Lead will address personnel issues, assist in process improvement initiatives, and ensure the warehouse is maintained to company standards. This role also acts as a backup to the Full-Time Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalency required
  • Solid leadership ability

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reach truck experience
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience with warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology
  • Knowledge of terminology of requisitions, invoices, and other warehouse documents
  • Operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
  • Experience utilizing WMS, RF Guns/Scanners
  • Ability to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Effective time management skills

  • Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed

Responsibilities

  • Processing and requisitioning of supplies
  • Delivering and packaging materials for shipment
  • Supervising and coordinating Warehouse Personnel and activities
  • Coordinating new and current employee training
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies
  • Researching errors and implementing corrective actions
  • Preparing work schedules
  • Addressing and reviewing personnel complaints and grievances
  • Assisting Full-Time Supervisor in developing plans and programs for process improvement
  • Assisting Full-Time Supervisor in compiling productivity and reliability statistics
  • Completing daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork
  • Ensuring warehouse is maintained in a sanitary manner
  • Informing Full-Time Supervisor of potential problems and changes
  • Acting as backup in the absence of Full-Time Supervisor
  • Reviewing and approving employee time and attendance records
  • Addressing performance problems through corrective action and dismissal
