About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is a hands-on floor leadership position responsible for coordinating daily warehouse activities under the direction of the Shipping Manager, 3rd Shift. This position is also responsible for maintaining an active presence in the operation while helping direct workflow, balance labor, reinforce safety and standard work, provide ongoing training/coaching, and assist with day-to-day problem resolution. The Warehouse Lead, 3rd Shift serves as a primary floor resource for the team and helps ensure work is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and with a strong focus on customer service. The Warehouse Lead, 3rd Shift provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Requirements

  • Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years of experience in the PVF Wholesale Distribution.
  • Prior operation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day floor activities and work assignments based on the Shift Manager's plan for the 3rd Shift.
  • Monitor workload throughout the shift and move resources as needed to address priorities and bottlenecks.
  • Remain hands-on in the operation and assist with picking, packing, loading, receiving, material handling, etc., as needed.
  • Provide continuing on-the-job training and coaching after initial training/qualification and identify areas where additional training may be needed.
  • Reinforce established SOPs, Work Instructions, and standard work so we are consistently executing processes the same way.
  • Serve as a visible safety champion by reinforcing PPE, safe equipment operation, housekeeping, and other safety expectations.
  • Assist team members with daily problem resolution and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Monitor quality and accuracy and help resolve picking, packing, loading, receiving, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Communicate workload, staffing, safety, quality, and training concerns to the Shift Manager.
  • Support effective shift handoffs and communication between shifts.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and workflow.
  • Model our Core Values and culture expectations and provide day-to-day coaching and direction to the team.
  • Support attendance tracking and communicate attendance concerns to the Shift Manager.
  • Provide floor leadership/coverage when the Shift Manager is temporarily unavailable.
  • Safely operate applicable warehouse equipment and perform warehouse functions as needed.
  • Adheres to all company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
