About The Position

Under the direction of a Supervisor, lead a group of team members within a department to successfully complete assigned duties and tasks. This position will provide training to new team members on department processes. This position is responsible for leading a team of Material Handlers in the day to day operations of a department.

Requirements

  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to transfer to another shift, line, or department; no time in seat requirement for demotions on the same shift
  • No more than 4 occurrence points
  • No more than two (2) written warnings in the last 12 months
  • Work in extreme temperatures as low as -30 degrees.
  • Routinely lift up to 65 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Directly monitor and follow up on scheduled work with all team members in the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Review the production schedule for needs and accuracy.
  • Ensure equipment and materials availability and proper operations throughout the shift.
  • Adhere to Safe Quality Foods (SQF) policy and requirements.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of equipment and work area.
  • Understand, communicate, and follow General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and product quality requirements during operations.
  • Train all new team members in proper methods, company policies, and procedures to perform the job.
  • Continue developing and leading team members with ongoing training.
  • Ensure all equipment and work area is free of hazards and follow up to correct any safety hazards.
  • Ensure documentation and materials necessary to perform the work in the assigned work center are available and maintained.
  • Communicate with Leads, Supervisors, Quality, Scheduling, Managers, and other personnel as required to ensure timely flow of information regarding problems or concerns.
  • Maintain proper accountability of all materials in the warehouse from receipt of goods through issue.
  • Manage the return of materials to inventory as required and document the process.
  • Understand the manufacturing build sequence to best support the overall production schedule.
  • Practice continuous improvement concepts to improve processes and propose possible solutions to identified problems.
  • Learn and continuously use 5S methodologies to drive improvements to the workplace.
  • Prepare and review various operational reports, including line efficiency, daily uptime, materials variance, etc., and continuously communicate to line team members.
  • Assist in developing and ensuring timely communication of performance measurements to all team members.
  • Assist the Supervisor with investigations for corrective action when work standards, safety policies, or GMPs are violated.
  • Perform overtime and/or holiday duty as required by the work schedule.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members.
