About The Position

The 2nd shift Warehouse Lead is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations while ensuring strict compliance with food safety standards, workplace safety policies, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, logistics expertise, and ability to perform analytical thinking to solve complex situations while serving as a liaison between hourly team members and supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years of warehouse or logistics management experience, preferably in a fresh or perishable food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, food safety standards, and cold chain logistics.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a cold or refrigerated environment for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and help coordinate receiving, put-away, picking, replenishment, and shipping
  • Assign tasks to hourly team members and prioritize workload based on operational needs
  • Ensure accuracy in inventory movements using RF scanners
  • Monitor productivity and workflow to meet KPIs
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate when necessary
  • Lead and coach warehouse associates through on-the job training, reinforcement of company policies, procedures, and performance expectations
  • Support onboarding and cross-training of new warehouse associates
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records; conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to support production schedules and customer deliveries.
  • Maintain and improve inventory accuracy and integrity through robust controls and reporting systems.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing safety standards and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and workplace safety standards (OSHA).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse environment.
  • Verify proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and prevent cross-contamination
  • Report and escalate any food safety concerns, damaged goods, or contamination risks to warehouse manager immediately.
