About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the warehouse while promoting a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. This role provides day-to-day leadership to warehouse associates and ensures the accurate receipt, storage, staging, and shipment of materials and finished goods in support of production and customer requirements. The Warehouse Lead maintains inventory accuracy, supports food safety and quality standards, and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse leadership experience, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of FDA, HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements.
  • Experience with inventory management and warehouse management systems (WMS); experience with Business Central (BC) preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, training, and support to warehouse associates.
  • Coordinate receiving, storage, staging, and shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Print scheduled manufacturing orders and pick tickets to stage materials for upcoming production runs.
  • Ensure ingredients and packaging materials are staged using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices and are available to support production schedules.
  • Conduct daily warehouse walkthroughs to maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety requirements.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Maintain warehouse forms, records, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support special shipping instructions and sample shipments as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain organization of product hold areas.
  • Track and document product disposals and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through BC and WMS inventory systems.
  • Verify incoming documentation and ensure timely system transactions.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support inventory replenishment activities and coordinate with internal stakeholders to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Train associates on warehouse inventory systems and processes.
  • Ensure products are handled, stored, and shipped in a manner that prevents damage and preserves product quality.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and storage requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address and resolve product or process issues.
  • Promote compliance with FDA, HACCP, GMP, and company standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and lead weekly safety meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Certify forklift operators and reinforce safe material handling practices.
  • Maintain accurate records related to inventory, receipts, shipments, and warehouse activities.
  • Support internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Partner with Production, Shipping, Quality, and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Communicate operational concerns, incidents, and opportunities for improvement to the Sr. Warehouse Manager.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
