About The Position

Porters work as part of a team to preserve a clean and tidy environment throughout C&S facilities. This role supports a safe and prideful work environment and the delivery of high-quality products to customers. The Warehouse Janitor provides custodial and janitorial services throughout a warehouse, including office spaces, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms. The position is in the perishable department, where the work environment may be refrigerated at approximately 28°–60°.

Requirements

Attendance, initiative, productivity, quality, safety, and values.
General Equivalency Diploma or high school diploma in General Studies is listed among the qualifications.
Ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
Ability to stand, bend, pull, lift, pivot, and walk on various surfaces for much of the shift.
Frequently lift products weighing 1–60 pounds or more, including from floor level to overhead.
Ability to work at multiple levels of varying heights.
Safely handle sharp objects, including box-cutting tools.

Responsibilities

Clean the warehouse, including office spaces, employee break areas, windows, and restrooms.
Maintain housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors.
Occasionally use an electric pallet jack to pull product from pick slots so the area can be cleaned with a scrubber, then return the product.
Tend to spills, including damaged product, oil, and grease.
Collect plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes for proper disposal.
Follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.
Safely lift cases of varying weights, shapes, and heights.
