About The Position

Mid-Am Building Supply is seeking a full-time Warehouse Forklift Operator for its Mt. Pleasant, IA location. The position involves loading outbound trucks, unloading and putting away inbound merchandise, and performing general clean-up duties. The role requires operating a forklift safely and efficiently, assisting with inventory counts, and checking in merchandise. The company is a premier wholesale distributor of building products with a strong presence in America's Heartland and is part of a larger group of companies with extensive reach across North America.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write so that written instructions and shipping papers can be easily followed and that corrections and needed information can be easily filled.
Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
Must be able to pass our forklift operators test after a normal training procedure.
Must be able to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of building materials a plus.

Responsibilities

Unloads materials from our customers’ and suppliers’ trucks.
Put away or stock inbound materials.
Pulls customers’ orders from inventory on hand.
Load company and customer vehicles with outbound materials.
Safely operate a forklift to assist in handling of materials.
Sweep and clean warehouse and pick up trash.
Observe all safety rules: (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, Lock Out/Tag Out, etc.).
Assist in counting inventory.
Checks in merchandise from receiving documentation.
