About The Position

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company with over 100 years of history, recognized as one of the world's largest woven textile mills. The company specializes in designing and manufacturing residential and contract-grade fabrics for a diverse clientele including furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and major retailers. This role is responsible for the efficient management of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, inventorying, and retrieving essential materials.

Requirements

Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Computer data entry skills.
Forklift license required.

Responsibilities

Perform daily walk-throughs with a checklist.
Load and unload yarn.
Receive and record yarn as delivered.
Weigh a percentage of each shipment, apply the correct label, and place it in the designated location.
Assist in inventory control.
Receive, size, and/or process chemicals as delivered.
Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse on a daily basis.
Conduct cycle counts on closed case inventory.
Work scheduled overtime.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Stage non-compliant products for return to vendor and/or disposal.
Perform all duties in a safe manner following established guidelines.
Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately, including damage to the powered industrial truck.
Actively participate in safety programs to identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
Maintain 5 S standards.
Wear ear protection in high noise areas.
