About The Position

The purpose of this position is to maintain a safe, clean, and accurate warehouse and shipping environment. This role involves tracking inventory for load scheduling, communicating customer or carrier issues, and understanding warehouse processes like DC link, NCMR, and customer Pick Slips. The position also requires forklift operation certification and battery care responsibilities. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance, including food safety, is essential. The role also includes security diligence and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be certified to operate a forklift.
  • Must have been trained and successfully passed the written test and performance evaluation for forklift operation.
  • Must understand DC link as it relates to shipments (loading), staging, transfers, and pallet movement.
  • Must understand the NCMR process.
  • Must understand customer Pick Slip.
  • Must be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate its Values.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and accurate warehouse and shipping environment.
  • Track inventory for load scheduling.
  • Communicate all customer or carrier issues, including stock issues, trailer defects, and any other issues that would affect or prevent on-time delivery.
  • Understand DC link as it relates to shipments (loading), staging, transfers, and pallet movement.
  • Understand the NCMR process.
  • Understand customer Pick Slip.
  • Operate a forklift (must be certified).
  • Perform battery care, including charging and watering batteries.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management that the employee has been trained to perform.
  • Maintain and adhere to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Compliance.
  • Respond to any emergency or potential emergency.
  • Perform security diligence, including maintaining control of door accesses, preventing unauthorized entry, and proper maintenance/security of Amcor equipment and information.
  • Maintain constant vigilance and participation in GMP and SQF practices.
  • Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality systems.
  • Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
