About The Position

Würth Baer Supply Company is seeking a Warehouse Customer Service Pickup Associate (Will Call Counter Clerk) for their Distribution Center in Vernon Hills, IL. This role involves receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. The associate will be the face of the company, interacting with customers picking up orders, assisting with order processing, locating products, handling returns, and providing general customer service. The position may also involve unloading product, ensuring displays are clean and organized, standing for long periods, and potentially assisting customers with loading purchases into their vehicles. Variable temperatures and lifting of 10-30 pounds may be expected.

Requirements

• High School diploma
• Previous customer service experience
• Basic computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to learn new systems
• Punctuality is a must
• Reliability
• Ability to multitask
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn new systems
• At least some kind of experience looking up information in a warehouse management system (WMS)
• Must be comfortable doing warehouse work AND assisting customers

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish
• Knowledge or experience in the woodworking industry
• Woodworking experience/knowledge helpful

Responsibilities

• Looking up customer information in the computer
• Interacting face-to-face with customers arriving at the warehouse facility to pick up their orders
• Assist with warehouse picking and packing duties
• Contacting customers via phone as needed and handing them their orders
• Performing inventory counts to ascertain product quantity accuracy
• General customer service duties
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
• Seeking out other work during any downtime as needed
• Cancellations of orders
• Scanning and entering invoices
• Processing returns
• Product replenishment
• Shipping out UPS orders and packages
• Unload product that will be placed in the will call display area
• Making sure all product on display is correctly positioned
• Ensuring displays are clean and organized
• Assisting a customer with his/her purchase by helping them load it into the customer's vehicle
