About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Cleaner in Port Reading, New Jersey. The role supports warehouse sanitation and facility upkeep in a distribution environment that handles bottled water. Pay is $20.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential, and employees are paid weekly. The position includes on-the-job paid training, provided safety gear, and work with state-of-the-art equipment. Additional duties may be assigned, and overtime may be needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One or more years of previous warehouse experience preferred.
• May be required to be equipment certified, depending on location.
• Ability to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility and self-direction to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
• Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks and a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, break rooms, locker rooms, and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
• Clean exterior building areas, including windows and walkways, and empty trash containers and receptacles according to the sanitation schedule.
• Sweep and scrub warehouse floors and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
• Wipe down racks, guard rails, and walls in warehouse and office areas according to the sanitation schedule.
• Maintain a safe, clean, tour-ready facility.
• Assist maintenance technicians as required and perform light maintenance activities such as painting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned and work overtime as needed.
