About The Position

The primary function of the Warehouse & CDL Driver is to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and Federal and State regulations while delivering all freight undamaged. The Warehouse & CDL Driver is also responsible for areas of warehouse maintenance, shipping/receiving, product storage, and delivery setup. This role is with a national building materials distributor that values its team members and invests in training and work-life balance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Minimum Class B License, Class A strongly preferred.
  • Must have a clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Must have overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Stamina to lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience or more is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain health and safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
  • Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
  • Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
  • Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
  • Prepare orders by processing requests: pull accurate materials and place them in appropriate areas for customer pick up or delivery; load and unload trucks as necessary.
  • Maintain inventory controls through minimizing material damage and ensuring order accuracy.
  • Organize the warehouse and manage bin locations.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service.
  • Wear protective gear and steel-toed boots.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained to company operating standards.
  • Operate a forklift.
