About The Position

The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for assisting the warehouse manager with daily operations of the central warehouse including loading, unloading and delivery of products to customers and branches.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or 3-5 years of previous experience with diverse agribusiness firms that include grain feed, fertilizer and farm supply operations.
  • Experience in operating ag production and other heavy equipment.
  • Familiarity with current farming practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsements and/or the ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, taste or smell; stand; walk; sit and climb; or balance.
  • Required to regularly stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • May occasionally need to climb ladders (may range from 5’ to 30’). This may include structural ladders as well as climbing into large vehicles and/or tractors.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and housekeeping of facilities and equipment as assigned.
  • Helping with unloading incoming products for resale that are warehoused and delivery to either customers or other locations in the company. Making a sales ticket is required.
  • Operating large trucks, forklifts, and other equipment.
  • Assisting with inventory count at the end of each month and at fiscal year-end.
  • Adherence to safety policies.
  • Providing a high level of customer service.
  • Promoting and adhering to the company Core Values of honesty, integrity & teamwork.
  • Adhering to cooperative credit policy.
  • Securing facilities and equipment when closing.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
