Warehouse Associate (PART-TIME)

About The Position

The part-time Warehouse Associate receives incoming donations and sorts and processes merchandise according to proper procedures. The role maintains cleanliness in warehouses and surrounding areas, including restrooms, donation sorting and storage areas, and grounds. In the Donation Drop Off area, the associate receives merchandise and food donations, sorts and processes them for appropriate destinations, and builds relationships with donors while educating them about the organization’s programs and services. The position works in a safety-oriented, faith-based team environment emphasizing organization, teamwork, compassion, efficiency, and excellent customer service. Requirements

Must maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a variety of situations with a variety of team members.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No experience necessary; training will be provided.
Flexibility in work hours; the position requires some overtime and the ability to work on some holidays.
Works with confidential information.
Normal mental and visual capabilities are required.
Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, and stoop for long periods.
Must handle, feel, and/or reach with hands and arms and frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming merchandise and food donations.
Sort and process donations according to proper procedures and direct them to appropriate locations.
Foster long-lasting relationships with donors and educate them about the organization’s programs and services.
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of warehouses, sorting areas, storage containers, restrooms, and surrounding areas; light groundskeeping may be required.
Maintain the commercial waste receptacle area, including breaking down large unsalable items and placing them neatly into appropriate receptacles.
Move processed and unprocessed donations and other items between warehouses and storage areas.
Operate heavy equipment after receiving training and certification as needed.
Assist warehouse staff with loading and unloading donated items, ensuring items remain undamaged and are placed in the correct position and location.
Work closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and assist with daily duties.
Maintain professionalism, safety, courtesy, and positive communication, and ensure other staff members do the same.
