About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate for the mid shift at its Detroit depot. The role is responsible for accurately selecting and loading products—including full cases and individual bottles—onto delivery trucks for distribution to customers throughout Michigan. The associate stacks products safely on pallets, stages and shrink-wraps pallets, and helps keep the loading dock, warehouse, and work area clean and organized. The position also involves operating warehouse equipment and maintaining an efficient case-per-hour rate so orders are ready for delivery on time. The work takes place in a warehouse, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and potentially loud noise. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, lifting, stacking, moving, and rotating items. The employee must regularly read, write, and communicate in English. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mandatory overtime is worked at the end of the shift, and employees may frequently be asked to stay beyond eight hours. Occasional Saturdays may be required based on business needs. Starting pay is $21.60 per hour, with attendance and accuracy bonuses and the benefits listed below.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to remain active and on one's feet for an entire shift.
Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 pounds.
Ability to lift, stack, move, and rotate items weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull carts using up to 100 pounds of force.
Ability to regularly read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including a full background check, 10-panel drug test, physical evaluation, and agility (lift) test.

Responsibilities

Accurately load products from the warehouse onto delivery trucks for distribution to customers throughout Michigan.
Select full cases and individual bottles of product for distribution.
Stack products safely and effectively on pallets, placing lighter products on heavier ones and facing labels outward.
Operate an electric pallet jack or forklift to transport products safely.
Keep the loading dock moving by staging and shrink-wrapping pallets for truck loading.
Keep the warehouse and work area clean and organized.
Maintain an efficient case-per-hour rate and ensure orders are ready for delivery on time.
Follow company policies, procedures, applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.
Cooperate with Great Lakes Wine & Spirits management and staff.
Follow applicable MLCC rules and regulations.
Use alcohol responsibly when related to business activities.
