About The Position

Covetrus is hiring a Warehouse Associate/Receiver at its Colonial Heights, Virginia distribution center. The role is responsible for receiving and storing products in a distribution-center environment. The workplace is described as climate-controlled and organized into small teams, with weekend work rarely required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and understand English to read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
• Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment, including order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
• Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
• Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and 50–70 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of work experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight trucks delivering merchandise to the distribution center, count pieces, packages, and pallets, and sign Bills of Lading according to company policy.
• Compare products with vendor packing slips, customer return notes, or transfer documents and receive products, verifying item details such as size, color, and quantity.
• Enter received items accurately into the computer system according to purchase orders, return notes, or transfer documents.
• File completed documents and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties, which may include Accounts Payable, Procurement, vendors, and other distribution center facilities.
• Put away received products promptly and accurately in appropriate stock areas to support customer order fulfillment.
• Check product dating to ensure proper stock rotation.
