About The Position

Covetrus is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Receiver for its Colonial Heights, Virginia distribution center. This DC team member receives and stores products in a climate-controlled, small-team environment. The role unloads and verifies incoming freight, records receipts in the computer system, communicates discrepancies, and puts products away in appropriate stock areas to support customer order fulfillment. The position may involve working in a cooler area and requires flexibility for mandatory overtime as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to read and understand English to read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
Ability to operate material-handling equipment, including order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime hours as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and up to 50–70 pounds occasionally.
Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

Six months of work experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload freight trucks delivering merchandise to the distribution center; count pieces, packages, and pallets; and sign Bills of Lading according to company policy.
Compare items with vendor packing slips, customer return notes, or transfer documents and receive products, confirming details such as size, color, and quantity.
Enter received items accurately into the computer system according to the applicable purchase order, return note, or transfer document.
File completed documents and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties, potentially including Accounts Payable, Procurement, vendors, and other distribution center facilities.
Put away received products promptly and accurately in appropriate stock areas to facilitate customer order filling.
Check product dates to ensure proper stock rotation.
