About The Position

Covetrus is hiring a Warehouse Associate/Receiver at its Colonial Heights, Virginia distribution center. The position is responsible for receiving and storing products in a distribution-center environment. The workplace is described as climate-controlled and organized into small teams, with weekend work rarely required. The role may involve working in a cooler area between 35°F and 46°F. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed to support timely customer delivery. Applicants must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening that includes marijuana testing.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and understand English to read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
• Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
• Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, material-handling equipment such as order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening, including testing for marijuana.
• Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
• Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and 50–70 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

• Six months of work experience in a warehouse or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight trucks and count delivered pieces, packages, or pallets; sign the Bill of Lading according to company policy.
• Compare products with vendor packing slips, customer return notes, or transfer documents, and receive products while checking details such as size, color, and quantity.
• Enter received items accurately into the computer system using the applicable purchase order, return note, or transfer document.
• File completed receiving documents and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties, which may include Accounts Payable, Procurement, vendors, and other distribution-center facilities.
• Put away received products promptly in appropriate distribution-center stock areas to support customer order fulfillment.
• Check product dates to ensure proper stock rotation.
