Weekends Only | 1st Shift Warehouse - Picking & Packing $25/hr
About The Position
L.L.Bean is hiring temporary warehouse employees at its Freeport, Maine Distribution Center to support the holiday season. The weekend-only positions involve either picking or packing orders and pay $25.00 per hour. Employees work an 8.5-hour shift every Saturday and Sunday and must commit through December 20. Immediate start dates are available. Packing work includes scanning items out of totes, verifying orders, generating outbound shipping documents, and packing orders. Picking work includes using a handheld scanner and mobile task device to collect selected units into totes and transfer them to conveyor belts. The roles are performed in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Basic math skills and ability to understand, speak, and read English.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and/or change tasks frequently.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- For packing: ability to stand for the entire shift; computer experience, familiarity with Windows-based applications, and ability to learn new applications quickly.
- For picking: ability to perform basic repetitive computer functions independently and learn new computer systems; ability to walk 6–8 miles during a shift and use a step ladder.
- Packing physical demands: stand for the entire shift; reach 57 inches from the floor; repeatedly reach over the shoulder; lift, pull, and lower totes weighing 11–30 pounds throughout the shift.
- Picking physical demands: walk and stand for the entire shift; frequently lift up to 10 pounds; climb ladders and stairs to reach upper shelves; crouch to access lower shelves; pick carts have a stated weight limit of 300–350 pounds.
