About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a first-shift Warehouse Associate to support warehouse operations at its Jasper, Tennessee site. The associate crates and pulls products, unloads trucks, prepares cartons for shipment, and helps ensure customer orders are accurate and packaging is suitable for sale. The role also includes warehouse upkeep, equipment safety checks, and other related duties. No prior experience is necessary, though mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of shipping are helpful. The position pays $17.25 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Requirements

• No experience is necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have good eye-hand coordination and excellent manual dexterity, including skill using hand and electrical tools.
• Must be able to read and comprehend numbers.
• Must be able to lift up to 86 pounds continually above shoulder height and below the waist, and lift 87 to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Must be detail-oriented, communicate well, and interact effectively with others.
• Must be able to separate products by profiling color.
• Must be proficient with a claw hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic bander, and electric skill saw.
• Must be willing to obtain a license to operate motorized equipment.
• Must use safety glasses and ear plugs as instructed and wear or use applicable personal protective equipment.
• Must immediately report unsafe working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Crate and pull products and unload trucks.
• Load loose cartons into trucks to ensure stability during shipment.
• Collect wood and build crates around cartons for flatbed shipment.
• Visually inspect cartons, repair or reseal damaged cartons, and rebox products as needed.
• Consolidate accessory and siding products on storage racks when needed.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on motorized equipment.
• Perform warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Distribution Supervisor, if necessary.
• Perform basic Warehouse Associate 2 duties at times, based on ability and experience.
• Maintain an accurate daily time card and calculate it weekly.
• Participate in plant safety programs and perform all duties safely.
