About The Position
Gordon Food Service is seeking a dedicated Seasonal Employee to support operations through the busy summer months. This is a fixed-term position starting immediately and concluding on August 30. The role involves supporting warehouse operations, including lifting and loading food service products, scanning and selecting products, operating power equipment, and working in various temperature zones. The company emphasizes integrity, respect, teamwork, and a fun, supportive atmosphere. Gordon Food Service is a 125-year-old, family-owned and operated foodservice business.
Requirements
- Must be physically fit and able to safely and repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (from 10 to 80 lbs.)
- A focus on health and safety
- Must demonstrate a proven record of consistent on-time attendance.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lift and load food service products (from 10 to 80lbs) onto pallets, and prepare pallets for shipping to a customer location
- Accurately scanning and selecting products using a computerized inventory system.
- Safe operation of power equipment including electric pallet jacks.
- Working in a variety of temperature zones including a freezer (-20 degrees Celsius), cooler and dry goods areas.
- Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations and Food Safety programs
- All other duties as required
Benefits
- Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 4pm start time
- 4 day work week (rotating day off)
- Starting Pay: $21.90/hour
