About The Position

This role is responsible for various warehouse operations including material handling, inventory management, and order fulfillment. The associate will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, manage inventory data using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), and ensure adherence to safety and food quality standards. Responsibilities include receiving raw materials, shipping finished products, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Willingness to operate various types of forklifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, inventory reports, sales forecasts, safety rules, motor carrier regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Proficient typing and computer skills including knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Word Processing software (MS Word) and Email software (Office 365).
  • Knowledge of and competence in the use of Warehouse Management System software and hardware, including handheld scanning devices.
  • Must attain within seven (7) working days of initial hire or placement in this position and maintain a current and valid forklift and pallet jack operator's license.

Responsibilities

  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms or freezers.
  • Respond to requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information and record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Properly utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to reflect production, shipping, receiving and inventory data.
  • Ship finished product and complete any and all related documentation in accordance with approved Finished Product Shipping Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Receive raw materials and complete any and all related documentation in accordance with approved Raw Materials Receiving Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Complete all Trailer Inspections and any and all related documentation in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
  • Monitor job tasks to ensure food safety and quality and promptly report any concerns or issues to supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Department.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arrange stock materials in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Prepare samples or other parcels for mailing.
  • Follow policies and procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain inventory records and perform cycle counts as necessary.
