About The Position

The Warehouse Associate Backup Driver works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, Assistant Manager, or Team Leader. The role is responsible for unloading and loading trucks, picking and putting away tires and other products, and carrying out the duties and responsibilities of a Route Truck Driver I. The position supports warehouse operations and company goals while upholding K&M values.

The work includes receiving and verifying incoming loads, maintaining product locations and stock, and preparing route and transfer trucks. The warehouse is not climate controlled and may be cold in winter and hot in summer. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• Safely operate a forklift, tire cart, pallet jack, and order picker.
• Learn and use scanning devices to accurately confirm tires and shipments.
• Work in a non-climate-controlled environment with cold winter and hot summer temperatures.
• Have a valid driver’s license and meet Route Truck Driver I job requirements and Warehouse Backup Driver minimum qualifications.
• Obtain any special licenses required to operate certain vehicles or in certain states.

Responsibilities

• Unload semi-trailers and assist with loading semi-trailers and route trucks.
• Use provided equipment and tools safely and accurately to verify, pick, and put away tires and other products.
• Keep tires and products in designated locations with tags facing out, and restock as needed.
• Work safely, including properly using equipment seat belts and order-picker harnesses.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
• Load multi-warehouse transfer trucks and all route trucks.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities of Route Truck Driver I.
• Receive loads by verifying product numbers and checking in products.
• Pick products and prepare shipments for Amazon and Walmart.
• Support the Warehouse Manager’s decisions and company goals, uphold K&M values, and perform other assigned duties.
