About The Position

The Warehouse Associate / Backroom Processor supports The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center’s program through work at its Lake Forest store. The position contributes to a positive shopping and donor experience and supports the store team through merchandise processing, quality assurance, and safe handling of materials. The role involves sorting products according to Salvation Army policy, inspecting merchandise for defects or damage, identifying products and directing them to the appropriate processing department, and collecting and safely transporting merchandise from the distribution center. The associate follows safety policies and government regulations and maintains confidentiality as needed. Other duties may be assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative. Schedules are determined by management; full-time employees may work any full-time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area through verifiable training and/or experience.
Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Flexibility to work schedules determined by management to ensure adequate store coverage.

Responsibilities

Sort products efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
Identify products correctly and direct them to the appropriate department for processing.
Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
Follow safety measures established by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
Maintain confidentiality as needed for the operation of the program.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative.
