About The Position

The Warehouse Associate Back-up Driver delivers electrical products from Viking Electric’s Milwaukee warehouse to local customers. The role combines delivery driving with warehouse duties. Work begins at 4:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and deliveries are local with drivers returning home each night. The driver performs vehicle inspections, loads materials and packages, delivers orders, contacts customers upon arrival, and assists with unloading. The position also fills orders, handles and ships customer materials, operates material-handling equipment, and helps maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Requirements

Valid driver's license; Class B CDL is listed in the requirements.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles.
Ability to lift packages weighing up to 85 pounds.
Ability to pass and maintain a Department of Transportation physical.
Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting numbers.
Basic English communication skills.
Willingness to learn to operate equipment; training is provided.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
One year of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of the route.
Transport and deliver products to customers carefully.
Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries.
Follow safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers.
Fill orders and issue materials and supplies in response to requests.
Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, walking riders, reach trucks, EZGo carts, hand trucks, and dollies.
Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
