Part-Time Wall Assembler

About The Position

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serves major Texas markets through five building material yards and one window distribution facility. The Wall Assembler I assembles wall components, stocks lumber, plates, and other work-related materials and supplies, and bands and stacks finished products. The role works under the direction of line leaders and assists with production setup and workflow.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent work experience.
Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
Must be available for overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

Prior carpentry experience is preferred.
Ability to learn to operate routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.

Responsibilities

Lay out wall component supplies and materials on carts or the floor.
Stock plates for component setup.
Assemble components under the direction of line leaders.
Load and band finished materials on carts or pallets, inside and/or outside.
Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
Maintain a neat and organized work area.
Assist with setting up the component assembly process.
Monitor production workflow and assist other areas as needed.
Operate equipment necessary for the assembly process.
Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures and maintain a safe environment.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance in accordance with company policy.
Help keep the work environment, bays, and staging areas clean and organized, including emptying trash receptacles.
Provide excellent customer service and contribute to a positive work environment.
Monitor inventory as required by location management.
Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.
Perform other duties as assigned, comply with company policies and standards, uphold the company's workplace safety commitment, and complete assigned training.
