About The Position

The Waitstaff ensures a positive dining experience for residents by providing attentive service, maintaining clean and organized dining areas, and supporting food service operations. The role serves residents in assigned areas and assists other areas when time permits. It also involves learning residents’ special needs and reporting changes in behavior to nursing staff. The Waitstaff reports to work on time in proper attire, prepared for pre-meal briefings, and follows the Employee Handbook and Performance Expectations. The position also requires reporting unsafe conditions, needed repairs, and on-the-job injuries. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old; employees under 18 must have a Minor Work Permit.
Food Handlers certificate required within 14 days.
Dementia Training required within 90 days.
Proficiency in resident care, customer service, teamwork, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry 35 lbs.
Ability to push 250 lbs in a wheelchair or cart.
Frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, and repetitive arm and hand movements.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 year of food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Report to work on time in proper attire, with clean hands and nails, prepared for the pre-meal briefing.
Serve residents in assigned areas and assist other areas when time permits.
Clean and set tables, vacuum or mop dining areas, and pick up loose items from the floor.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in dining service areas according to schedule.
Learn residents’ special needs and report changes in behavior to nursing staff.
Follow policies in the Employee Handbook and Performance Expectations.
Report unsafe conditions or needed repairs to maintenance or a supervisor.
Immediately report on-the-job injuries.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
