About The Position

The Waiter/Waitress takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. The role includes greeting guests warmly, providing attentive service, handling requests and complaints, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and keeping the dining room clean and properly set up. The position also works with kitchen and other department staff to ensure accurate orders and support special events and functions.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders while following established service steps.
Deliver food promptly and professionally, follow safe food-handling and sanitation standards, and check in with guests about additional needs.
Understand menu items and ingredients; advise guests on food and drink combinations, accommodate reasonable requests, and demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
Communicate effectively and patiently with guests and staff, and work well with others.
Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
Handle personal or medical information shared by guests with sensitivity and confidentiality.
Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
Set up the dining room before service, maintain it during service, and clean and reset it afterward in accordance with sanitation standards.
Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
